About Me

I began my career as a one-on-one instructional assistant at the elementary school level, working with a special needs student for 9 years. After this, I transitioned to middle school as an Assistant in the Special Education classroom where I have been for the last 6 years. In this capacity, I work with several students who are part of mainstream classes. I've had the opportunity to work with many middle teachers from different classrooms and am familiar with their teaching styles and expectations.

5 years ago, I began offering private tutoring after school out of my home in Cupertino. I tutor in all subjects: Math, Science, English, and Social Studies for elementary, middle, and high school students. I work with all students, but have expertise helping those with learning disabilities. Having taught for many years, and working with CUSD teachers specifically, I am able to provide additional support and targeted help for my students based on what I know they are learning in the classroom. I am also familiar with the recent shift to the Common Core style of education.

As a mother of two college graduates, both whom went through the CUSD and FUHSD school districts, I know the difference individual attention can make for students. As a private tutor, I am able to see that impact in action. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to give each child this individual attention which is key to their academic success. I strive to mold my teaching to best meet each student's unique needs.
